M&A: Digging for Treasure

In the popular reality TV show “Storage Wars,” a group of professional buyers bid against each other to buy the contents of abandoned private storage sheds. Bidders get to look into the shed prior to bidding, but cannot go inside to find out if it is treasure or trash. A dusty old case in the corner could be just that, worth nothing, or it could contain a pristine ‘51 Fender Telecaster guitar that will set them up for retirement.

The “Gathering” Storm – Jurisdiction Over Gathering In Ohio Unclear

Not a day goes by that the news isn’t filled with articles about the shale gas boom in Ohio and neighboring West Virginia and Pennsylvania.  So far, the discussion has been focused on how much gas there is, what it will mean for the economy, and on how the gas is produced, including the controversy surrounding hydraulic fracturing.   But, other issues are starting to draw attention – both by the regulators and by the industry.   In Ohio, the scope of the Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB) is increasingly a hot topic.
