Schug is Associate Professor and Shimadzu Distinguished Professor of Analytical Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at The University of Texas at Arlington.  His research has been focused on the theory and application of analytical chemistry techniques for solving a variety of important problems. Schug has received young investigator awards from the American Chemical Society, Eli Lilly and Company, and LCGC for his efforts in the development of chromatography and mass spectrometry methodologies. He is also Associate Editor for the Journal of Separation Science.
